OVERVIEW
-
A community based (non-profit) idea for seniors* where
(on at least one consistent night a week) it forms as an egalitarian
5-minutes-each learning circle around an inner square of four (HDMI split)
TVs
-
Each 5-minutes-each circle member controls their choice of jam,
discussion, training, recording ... everything ... wearing a backlit
'conch' shell ... for 5 minutes.
-
* Seniors is yet to be defined ... it may end up as over 50 ... over 40 ... or less ...

An attached AppleTV provides wi-fi access for any circle

their fretboard
QUESTIONS (this will be added to)
-
Can people formally spruik about grants, business services or money making ventures (gigs)?
- On
egalitarian Monday circle nights ... generally no. Creating other
nights of the week (or month) for doing so or placing a concise link in
the weekly email update ... yes.
- Visiting VIPs (vested interest people) may get their own five minutes occasionally so that people can quiz them.
-
Can electric guitarists bring an amp and/or
pedals?
- Yes, if the group continues to allow it, but (at the outset it is) <= 20watts
- Everything must be battery powered and positioned under your seat
- Ideally,
wireless guitar so that leads are not a hazard either
-
Are we covered by insurance?
- So far it is likely that some arrangement will be
made with 'Duck for Cover' where key people are 'trainers' and thus have
public liability coverage.
- Some (some) public liability coverage
is via the community centre itself.
- Short of incorporation (which
is a pain) non-profit status with 'trainers' is (so far) the cheapest
way to solve the insurance problem.
- Further research will reveal other options ... the journey continues.
-
What about the money side of things?
- Weekly updates will include all transactions from a Gungahlin
Westpac account with a PDF of the statements one click away.
- Whatever
ventures people create on other nights or at other venues will
definitely not be covered by underwriting, sponsorship, loans, insurance
or any form of liability from the club ... but emotional support and
advice is bound to flow freely.
- A mention of the club on the mic
(or a banner display) would be nice but not required.
-
The club will not own much (or make much) in
the way of assets or revenue.
-
Savings for
agreed objectives will be depicted in gannt charts and graphs showing
deadlines and weekly savings allotted to them such as:
- storage
-
advanced room bookings
- insurance (eg Duck for Cover)
- non-profit registration with ACT government
-
any other costs or deposits required by
the venue
FREE VIDEO AND AUDIO RECORDING
-
People who share original stuff and agree to be the subject of audio or video recording through the RODEcaster Video S (or other equipment that members bring) hold all
recording and distribution rights receiving (free) all separate takes,
stems (or volunteer post-production) from all present mics and cameras
- Workshops from different vested interests
regarding copyright, recording rights, royalties, APRA etc are likely to
be a mainstay of club activity
