Gunghalin Finger-style Guitar Club
A community based startup for
a learning circle of acoustic and electric finger-style guitarists (of all skill levels) seated around an inner square of four (HDMI split) TVs on the floor



  • Who: any acoustic or electric fingerstyle guitarist from beginner to expert
  • What: blues, folk, rock, jazz, multicultural ... whatever ... but a focus on the five blues shapes
  • Where: at new community centre - key links at YouTube community posts
  • When: perhaps Mondays 7-9pm ... to be decided
  • How: sign up with email and nickname on Hibberson St for the BCC (private) weekly newsletter
  • How Much: $2 coin donation at each weekly event to cover room hire
  • A reservoir of TV ready lyrics and chords online as chordpro text and graphics
  • No government grants ... no money making scams ... no political or religious raves
  • Positive support and encouragement to set up your own learning circle to suit your demographic
  • Timed 5 minute slots allow guitarists to conduct: a jam; training; a performance; or, a question session
  • Can electric guitarists bring an amp and/or pedals? ... yes ... but <= 20watts - battery powered and wireless
  • Pick the time of your slot (if required) write your name on some masking tape and stick it on your shirt and your guitar
  • Solos, duos, trios and new bands can use one side of the room to get experience at setup-perform-packup ... in 5 minutes
  • Just turn up, BYO guitar stand (or at least a strap) and safely place your case against the wall on the benches around the room
  • All nicknames and email addresses remain private unless volunteers consent to mention them in weekly newsletters on the sign-up form
  • An attached AppleTV provides wi-fi access for any circle member to share chords, lyrics, training materials or live close-ups of their fretboard
  • All transactions will have transparent weekly updates - some may have to be saved for any insurance or incorporation as required by the venue
  • People who agree to audio or video recording hold all recording and distribution rights recieving (free) all separate takes from any separate mics
