         Pluckers is a five-minutes-each learning-jamming-recording semi-circle for people who pay five bucks to pluck acoustic or electric guitar, sitar, bass, harp, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, pipa, lute, lyre, or zither. Pluckers will deploy AS (artificial stupidity) where procedures, finances and voting is so transparent, simple and fair there is no way to abuse the system for personal gain. Pluckers encourages experimental recording with small devices by different pluckers at the same time. Pluckers also encourages the efficient use of batteries and wireless technology so that the room is not cluttered with cables. Pluckers especially promotes serious discussion of recording skills and recording devices in five-minute workshops. Pluckers provides at least two condenser mics set up with a Zoom R4 to catch a stereo field. Other recording devices, pedals, loopers and/or small (< 20 watt) battery powered amps are welcomed. Pluckers is planned for mid 2027 at the Gungahlin Community Centre (ACT) where (after half an hour of plucking warm cheesy snacks in the kitchen) members (people who have signed on and paid the five bucks to pluck entrance fee) enter the nearby Snowgum room to deliver and control their own plucking jams ... for five-minutes-each. Pluckers will be started by older folk to pluck the bugs out of the constitution and procedures so that it is easy for community groups of any age or demographic to modify the same text to construct their own five-minutes-each learning-jamming-recording semi-circle for any instruments they desire. Recordings (eg spontaneous ad jingles) can be uploaded immediately after recording and registered (through APRA) with an equal percentage of royalty (composer/author) rights accorded to each APRA registered person as negotiated (chosen) by the 5-minute-conch-controller at the time |
